NOTES TO DANIEL PEARL’S FAMILY

Notes that were given to us after the performance of "When Abel met Cain" to be sent to Daniel Pearl's parents inspired by our evening. Due to lack of space we will quote only a few of them:

Dear Judea & Ruth,
I would like to express my deepest respect to you and your family. The power to transform pain into healing creation is admirable and I would like to personally thank you for helping me see it so clearly. It was an honour for us to dedicate our performance of 'When Abel met Cain' to Daniel's memory and true inspiration for our audience. May you continue spreading this wonderful message across the world.
Best wishes,

Anastasis Sarakatsanos
Musician of When Abel met Cain

Dear Judea and Ruth,
I was deeply touched by the opportunity to perform "when Abel met Cain" as a tribute to Daniel. Being Jewish myself and a third generation of Auschwitz survivors, the tragic story of your son opened a door to our ancestral pain inside me, sometimes it seems that this pain is endless. The decision to divert this pain into anew creation that brings life and inspiration into the world is highly inspiring for me .
My brother's name is Daniel. In the show "when Abel met Cain" I tell a personal story about my relationship with him, this story leads into the mythical story of Cain and Abel and into the place in us that is capable of hurting another human being. The intention of dedicating this story to your son brought depth into the telling, I felt like the story told itself again in a new way. I want to thank you for the inspiring work that you are leading , the decision to transform your pain into a new creation which is a big teaching for me. May Daniel's spirit be always blessed .

To Judea and Ruth,

"A very gripping magnificent performance as a fitting memorial to your beloved Daniel. May the seeds shown by the vision of the gifted actors bring reconciliation and understanding into our horribly troubled and violent world".
Ruth Jacobson
