תאונתנו

ביום ג נסענו במכונית אישתי, והיא נהגה. נסענו בכיוון אחד בכביש, והתקרבנו לרחוב משמאלנו. מכונית אחרה התקרבה לנו מהכוון הנגדי. ברגע שהיינו בצומת היא פתאום פנתה ימינה והיה בלתי אפשרי לעצור. החזית של מכוניתנו היכתה את צד המכונית האחרת. היה פיצוץ ושקי האוויר התפרצו כשתוכננו, והיכו אותנו בחזותינו. היה נזק לחזית של מכוניתינו.

נסענו לבית החולים ששם בדקו אותנו ומצאו שעצמות החזה שלנו חבולות.

הכאב מאד גרוע, אלא אין מה לעשות – רק לקחת כדורי משכך כאבים ולהמתין עד שהמצב ישתפר.

הרגש הראשי רוגז – נגד טפשות הנהגת האחרת. היא הודה לאישתי שהיא לא ראתה אותנו מתקרבים. היא גם הודה לאיש שהיה שם “המוח שלי היה מרחק מיילים משם”. אנחנו כואסים על בזבוז הזמן שנגרם שהנוהגת לא התרכזה על נהגותה. בכל זאת תודה לאל, אנחנו בחיים ופצועותינו אינם יותר רציניות.

 

Our accident

On Tuesday we travelled in my wife’s car and she was driving. We travelled in one direction on the road and we approached a street on our left. A different car approached us from the other direction. The moment we were at the junction the other car suddenly turned to the right and it was impossible to stop. The front of our car hit the side of the other car. There was an explosion and the airbags popped out as they were programmed to do and hit us in our chests. There was damage caused to the front of our car. We went to the hospital where they examined us and found out that our chest bones were bruised. The pain was excruciating but there is nothing one can do – only to take pain kicking tablets and to await until the situation gets better.

The first emotion was anger – against the stupidity of the other driver. She admitted to my wife that she did not see us approaching. She also admitted to the man that was there: “My brain was miles away from there.”

We are angry about the waste of time which was caused by the driver who did not concentrate on her driving but at any rate, thank G-D, we are alive and thankful that our injuries are not more serious.
